DroneDeploy Mike Winn SF Enterprise Journal 40 Underneath 40

CEO and Co-Founder of DroneDeploy Mike Winn has been named to SF Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 List – quite an achievement in Silicon Valley.

It’s a well-deserved honor for the person who has successfully steered one of the first drone mapping companies through the upheavals of the last 9 years in the drone industry to a leading position in the drone ecosystem today.

One of the first times that DRONELIFE spoke with Mike Winn, he discussed the company’s vision of single button processing for drone data. Since then, DroneDeploy has steadily updated their platform to get closer to the goal, making drone mapping and drone data processing easier and more useful, and helping to set industry standards for processing times and . Along the way, they’ve scored an impressive amount of funding and they’ve branched out beyond drones, to ground mapping systems that deliver a full solution for construction clients.

Reporting from the 2019 user conference, DRONELIFE wrote about big company milestones: 1,000,000 maps created, 100,000,000 acres mapped. They’ve deployed to thousands of customers around the world. And, they’ve volunteered systems and services to assist on disaster relief missions, including mapping the destroyed town of Paradise, CA for residents after the 2018 camp wildfires.

Perhaps most impressively, DroneDeploy has maintained and improved it’s reputation and relationships with clients for nearly a decade. As a start up, they had an enviable client base early on. As the company and the industry have matured, they’ve supported those clients and expanded their tech offering, staying out in front of development.

DroneDeploy Mike Winn has built an impressive offering, starting early in a developing industry and keeping out in front of developments. In the hot technology market of Silicon Valley, that’s definitely something worthy of note.
