Without a doubt, the Osmo Action is DJI’s direct shot at the dominance of the GoPro action cam, delivering a similar overall package with a few key benefits – and at a lower price. We haven’t gotten to the touch yet so we can’t speak to the performance, but the footage we’ve all seen looks pretty compelling so far.
With the DJI Osmo Action you get a helpful front screen that is ideal for vlogging and viewing your recordings. However, you lose the live streaming feature which in this particular comparison is only found on the GoPro Hero7 Black. And at the end of the day, the £ 329 DJI Osmo Action is a solid £ 50 cheaper than the £ 379 GoPro Hero7 Black, which could steer you in the direction of DJI if you were otherwise torn between them.
We’ll know for sure once we run the DJI Osmo Action through our full review, but this looks like a promising addition to the action cam space and perhaps the toughest challenger yet to GoPro’s enduring (and hard-earned) domination.
