After the series electric scooters B1, B2 and B3, the Indian electric scooter manufacturer Blacksmith Electric has now presented its new models B4 and its delivery version B4 +.
Like the brand’s previous motorcycle models, the Blacksmith B4 has a neo-retro design, but with futuristic accents that can be compared to the popular Italian Vespa. The scooter is driven by a 5 kW (continuous) electric motor, which delivers a maximum output power of 14.5 kW and a torque of 96 Nm.
The Schmied B4 reaches a top speed of a respectable 120 km / h. However, the speed can be limited to 60 km / h (37 mph) or 80 km / h (50 mph) or 100 km / h (62 mph).

In addition, the e-scooter integrates a patented NMC battery with a high energy density in the intelligent Bluetooth BMS, with which the battery change takes about 4 hours according to its own information. Blacksmith has not released any details on the actual capacity of the battery. Range that shouldn’t be too different from the 120km of the other previously announced electric scooter, the Blacksmith B3.
Other specifications include a maximum load capacity of 200 kg, space for up to two drivers and anti-theft technology. The delivery variant from Blacksmith, the B4 + electric scooter, offers a large charging box at the rear of the vehicle instead of a passenger seat. The company positions the B4 + as a courier or delivery electric scooter. Future owners can look forward to GPS and integrated artificial intelligence with intelligent functions.
The launch date and prices have not yet been announced, but previous Blacksmith Electric B2 electric motorcycles had a price tag of $ 5,000. India has become a pioneer in electric scooters, which are gradually replacing the classic gasoline motorcycles that polluted both India and the local air.
