The Aprilia SXR 125 maxia scooter was launched in India for £ 1.15

Piaggio has launched the new Aprilia SXR 125 maxi scooter in the Indian market at a price of 10% £1.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune). While there is no official announcement from the two-wheeler manufacturer on the matter, prices for the SXR 125 have now been updated on the company’s Indian website.

The new scooter can be booked for a refundable token amount of £5,000. It is available in four color options: white, blue, red, and black.

For the uninitiated, the new SXR 125 is the smaller iteration of the popular SXR 160 maxi scooter. It comes with the same exterior body and design but has a smaller heart borrowed from the Aprilia SR 125 scooter. There is an air-cooled 125cc single cylinder SOHC three-valve engine. This is capable of returning a maximum power of 9.4 hp at 7,600 rpm and 9.2 Nm at 6,250 rpm.

The chassis and the chassis of the new SXR 125 also come from its bigger sibling, but have been adapted to its individual character. While the SXR 160 gets large 14-inch wheels, the smaller SXR rolls on 12-inch alloy wheels.

The SXR 125 has a multitude of functions that make it one of the best-equipped offerings in its segment. It has a full LED lighting setup which is still a premium feature among Indian scooters. There is also a large LCD dashboard, ample under-seat storage, a tall windshield, lockable front storage compartment, 7 liter fuel tank and a USB charging port.

It’s a rival like the Suzuki Burgman Street 125, which is in a much lower segment and priced at a great price £84.371 (standard) and £87,871 (Bluetooth activated) (both prices are ex-showroom in Pune).
