Apple Clear Sweep: The iPhone 12 dominates smartphone income sharing and quantity within the first quarter

A few days ago, Canalys released a report in which Samsung managed to overtake Apple in terms of global smartphone shipments for the first quarter of 2021. Now Counterpoint has published a new report, according to which the iPhone 12 series dominated the first quarter of 2021 in terms of sales and volume. One is the volume fraction and another is units shipped, although I often find it hard to tell the difference. Apple generated a third of the smartphone industry’s revenue in the first quarter of 2021.

According to the latest data from Counterpoint, the iPhone 12 series was also the best-selling in terms of volume in the first quarter of 2021. In addition, the iPhone 11 followed the iPhone 12 series in terms of both sales and volume. The latest iPhone range became the most popular series and led the smartphone segment in sales in the first quarter with a global sales share of 42 percent. With a sales share of 32 percent in the first quarter of 2021, the company secured around a third of the market share.

The iPhone 12 Pro Max achieved a market share of 12 percent, while the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro accounted for 11 percent and 9 percent, respectively. The iPhone 12 mini is not in the top 5 in terms of sales, but it generated more profit than Samsung with the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus. The iPhone 12 was followed by the iPhone 11 with three percent, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G also received a three percent market share.

Global smartphone sales exceeded $ 100 billion in the first quarter of 2021, according to the report. Counterpoint found that consumers were buying mostly high-end variants of the flagship line of phones. In the US, the iPhone 12 Pro Max was the best-selling model. In contrast, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G sold more in Europe and the US than the other phones in the series.

The iPhone 12 was the top-selling phone by volume in the first quarter of 2021 with a market share of 5 percent. The iPhone 12 Pro Max took second place with 4 percent, followed by the iPhone 12 Pro with 3 percent and the iPhone 11 with 2 percent.
