The 50 percent discount on the fees for the Active Mobility theory test has been extended from September 30 to December 31.
The theory test was introduced on June 30th of this year along with the reduced fee of S $ 5 (usual fee of S $ 10) with no GST.
Users of e-scooters and electric bicycles must take this theory test before they are allowed to drive in public spaces from January 1, 2022.
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) said in a Facebook post that they are extending the concession fee period because drivers have requested more time to prepare for the test.
The agency also said it made this decision “against the backdrop of the dynamic Covid-19 situation”.
Food delivery companies have seen increased demand for deliveries over the past two and a half months, according to the National Delivery Champions Association, which represents freelance delivery drivers and drivers.
The reduced test fee is S $ 5.35 according to GST. Without the discount it is S $ 10.70.
The e-bike test comprises 40 multiple-choice questions that must be answered in 40 minutes.
The e-scooter test consists of 30 multiple-choice questions that can be answered in 30 minutes.
Those who take the test will be given a free repeat attempt. Test takers must achieve at least 80 percent to pass.
E-manuals for the tests are available online.
E-scooter drivers can register for the theory test here. Power-assisted cyclists can register here.
