Photogrammetry expert Pix4D has introduced survey-quality 3D modeling on mobile devices with RTK accuracy. The viDoc RTK rover enables ground-based 3D scanning in RTK quality with iOS mobile phones and tablets via the Pix4Dcatch app.
“The viDoc RTK Rover was designed by viGram GmbH., A German company under the direction of professional surveyors, and is designed for accuracy. He’s working with Pix4Dcatch to take pictures, ”said a Pix4D product announcement. “The RTK portable rover is a replacement for more expensive ground survey equipment that doesn’t compromise on accuracy to produce actionable 3D results.”
“The viDoc RTK rover, synchronized with Pix4Dcatch, marks the images of a 3D scan with geotags in real time while it is connected to any NTRIP service. Extensive research has shown that 3D models can be created with an absolute geolocation accuracy of less than 5 cm (see whitepaper here). “

The viDoc RTK Rover for Pix4Dcatch is now available for shipping to Europe. It will be available for the rest of the world from May 20th directly through Pix4D or our resellers. Pix4Dcatch can be downloaded for free from the App Store.
